We are moving through an exciting inflection point in our short history. Your role will be to help build the infrastructure and systems that help the company scale from less than one million in revenue to thirty million in revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and managing the finances of the entire organization, including:
    • Budgetary and financial planning processes
    • Manage US and Canadian Payroll with ADP and health benefits plans
    • Financial infrastructure, including Invoicing, Receivables, Payables
    • Producing monthly, quarterly & annual reports and forecasts for management, the Board and investors
    • Manage our customers’ vendor assessment projects
    • Obtain necessary licenses and insurance policies, including renewal applications
    • Manage key vendor relationships, including office landlords and offsite hosting facility
    • Monitor financial processes, policies and systems
    • Oversee and liase with Auditors for year-end consolidated US GAAP audit
    • Oversee preparation and submission of tax filings – Canadian and U.S.
    • Support fundraising activities
    • Financial due-diligence for corporate or business development activities
  • Managing Human Resources activities, including on-boarding processes and assisting with recruiting
  • Managing Legal function, including liasing with external counsel in U.S. and Canada
  • Contribute to unique company culture, highly collaborative environment

Skills & Qualifications

  • A dynamic and driven individual who thrives in a fast paced environment.
  • An individual with an Accounting designation (CGA, CMA, or CA)
  • At least 5 years experience in a finance role
  • Accounting and financial management skills with understanding of business processes and operations
  • Experience with startups, preferably technology startups
  • Sound business judgment with decision-making and negotiation skills
  • Enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment
  • Trustworthy, with integrity, honesty, and high ethical standards
  • Low ego, self-starter who takes initiative and can work both independently and as a team player
  • Able to handle diverse tasks simultaneously, manage priorities with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
